Classic Army G3 variants
« on: June 05, 2010, 01:02:36 AM »
I am seriously considering buying one of CA's G3 variants, especially looking at the CA33e or maybe an SAR M41 SG.  The only problem is that I can not find many reviews of them, and the ones I do find are rather old (at least 3 years) and I'm sure CA has upgraded and rereleased these.  So what I'm asking is if anyone has experience with either of these.  A review and a pros and cons run down would be nice.  Also any info on CA experiences in general would also be appreciated.

Still have it.  Just looking into this for the future.  Probably decide which is better and keep the other as a loaner.

Mac has a M41 and I'm pretty sure its CA, ask him.
I've been ashamed. I've been put down.

Alright.  I'll send him a PM about the quality.  I kind of read some bad stuff about the 33 and the 41 is longer so the 41 has moved to the preferred slot in my head.

Macs G3 is actually a pretty decent gun after I held it.

Phish has it now, I'm pretty sure. He has one either way.

The one thing I tested, and want to mention, is that the King Arms G3 mids don't fit in the CA. I think its something with the front of the magwell, where the mag would latch.

MAG brand G3 mags work fine with CA.  I sold Mac his, and I had it for a while before he killed it with that M4 stock. (JP Mac, but I don't really like mixing guns.)
I vote go more along the line of the long G3's.  Put real wood on them too; here's a picture of one from Airsoft Canada:

Go with the G3 SG1, and then replace everything with real wood.  Toss glass on top, maybe add a little pepper, and voila! Delicioso!

Haha, no worries man, I do like it though, i just didn't 'dig' the full stock or sliding stock for the G3...

That G3 SG1 is pretty sexy, I must say.

Seconded, I had 2 sets and sold them both. My CA and TM metal mids are about 80-89 rnds each? and are $20 a pop retail.
I do AEG TECH WORK, experienced with V2 & V3 gearboxes, PM me for more info, or if you need something fixed.

I used to own a CA G33E and I loved that thing.  It functioned flawlessy until my genius ass decided to do some upgrades on it.  I didnt know what I was doing and messed it up.  Arc fixed her up for me and before I left for basic I gave that to him.  But CA's G3 series is awesome.  However I want a real HK/CETME G3 style assualt rifle, they are much nicer.

Oh man I am drooling over that wood SG1. I have one and that idea is looking reeeaaaal good right now. Anybody know how much those wood kits go for? And where to get one? Or would I have to try to make it? Its worth a shot I guess, I have a decent shop.

Oh and ocelot I cant stop staring at your avatar...and I laugh every time I see it haha.

Cheaper than dirt or other discount military/firearms dealers would have them.  Check in a magazine called Shotgun news.

Where are there MAG G3 midcaps? I don't think I've seen any.  Also I'll check the SG1.  I really like the longer rifles, so the longer the G3 they make the better.

Were you talking about the SG1 Taktik rifle?  because airsoftgi claims the m41 and the SG1 Taktik are the same length, or were you suggesting the SG1 because of the wood furniture?  I just really want the biggest one(that's what she said)
