M1A1 Thompson
« on: December 24, 2008, 12:41:57 PM »
OK so i just got my new softair Thompson. i know "ew softair" well the gun is G.R.E.A.T. Clap) first off the fps is good shoots around 360-380 apposed to 420 wtf on the box. descent accuracy, i would say don't try shooting something over 150-160 feet. ROF not bad, its pretty close to the actual thing, but I'm sure a little moding  here and there could change that. metal gears and bushings. "all metal body" its softair they aren't that good but most of it is all metal, except the trigger assembly and grips. really the only reason i got it from softair is that i didn't want to pay 300+ for the TM version.
one problem, and this could be just my gun, the mag release. its a bit difficult but i found a way to get the mag in and out with ease, sorta.... you could find mags at

http://www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=23805

you will need tall mag pouches...like for mp5 or any SMG type.
all in all i would give it a 5/5  beer:)

I believe it is a re-brand of the CYMA Thompson.  I know someone who has one, and have been shot by it plenty of times.   ;D  Great gun, I think it has a M120 spring in it.

Cool, but if you haven't used the TM Thompson you couldn't say that this one is better....just putting that out there, because the TM Thompson is absolutely amazing.
I've been ashamed. I've been put down.

i would say don't try shooting something over 15-160 feet.

15 to 160 feet! man your limited in your engagement shooting ;)

You might want to put a zero on that :)

Ive fired one, decent gun.
Watch out when you put the mags in to be gentle because people have crushed their hopup by putting in there mags to hard

congrats,

Simply rewire the gun to accept Large Type or buy a small to large type converter.

If you use the converter you will have more resistance in your wiring and then therefor you will have a slower ROF. Converters are like $5.

how do you go about giving a perfect score on a gun that gave you false advertising and a problem right out of the box.

•it's a smg-class, so rof needs to be relatively high, not just an okay ROF. then again a larger voltage battery could bump it up, but you'd need to mod it to take larger packs
•a 5/5 score should be saved for guns with good accuracy.
•mag release problem
